I am finding it difficult to believe that nearly a year has passed since I last posted here! I’ve been busy doing all sorts of creative things, but have been neglecting sharing many of them here. That is about to change.
I am about to embark on a new sort of challenge. I’m participating in NaPoWriMo again beginning April 1. At the same time, I’m also signed up to take part in Camp NaNoWriMo. In the Camp NaNo invitation I received, the organizers mentioned something about being a rebel. That’s where my challenge begins.
Poetry is not listed as a genre for Camp NaNoWriMo. I understand why. It’s about writing a NOVEL. But what’s more “novel” and rebellious than doing a poetry collection instead? For camp, we are allowed to set our own word count goal. Instead of the traditional goal of 50K words, I’ve set my goal at 20K. I may even consider dropping it a bit.
I will be writing a minimum of 2-3 poems a day for the entire month of April. I won’t post them all here, but I will share ONE of my poems every day to complete the NaPo goal.
If nothing else, this will be fun! Won’t you join me? Challenge yourself. Write a poem every day in April, even a little Haiku. Or if you prefer fiction, sign up for Camp NaNoWriMo. Maybe we’ll be cabin mates!
